Unknown pop-ups and fake security alerts

A web page that claims your device is infected and demands an immediate download or phone call may be advertising or fraud rather than a real system diagnosis.

Do not install from the alert

Use the operating system's or trusted security product's own interface if you want to check device status.

Do not call numbers in alarming browser pop-ups

A legitimate system warning does not need an unknown web page to route you to a random support number.

Close the page or browser normally

If the browser behaves unexpectedly, use supported browser troubleshooting rather than following the pop-up's instructions.

Seek trusted help if persistent

Repeated redirects or unwanted software may need a reputable technician or official security guidance.
