Use unique passwords
Reusing one password means one breach can affect several accounts.
Enable MFA where available
CISA currently recommends multifactor authentication because it adds a second verification step beyond the password.
Keep recovery information current
Old phone numbers or inaccessible email addresses can make legitimate recovery harder.
Treat unexpected approval prompts as warnings
Do not approve a login or MFA request you did not initiate.
